15 Personal Trainer Podcasts Every Coach Should Be Hearing

Being a PT means a lot of dead time. There are gaps between clients, drives to the gym, and admin evenings that drag on. Personal trainer podcasts turn all of that into free training. But there is a catch: thousands of fitness shows exist, and most talk to gym-goers rather than coaches. So we picked 15 shows that help you coach better and run a better business. We also checked and linked every one below.

How we chose these personal trainer podcasts

We looked for three things:

  • Useful to coaches rather than their clients
  • Worth pressing play in 2026 — and we say so honestly where a great show has wrapped
  • A clear reason to listen rather than general chat

Then we split them into four groups: business, working life, science and mindset. That way you can jump straight to the one you need this week.

Personal trainer podcasts for growing your business

Start here if your training is solid but your diary is not full yet.

1. Mastery Podcast — Mark Coles. Coles runs the M10 gym in Nottingham, and he talks openly about pricing, systems and hiring. It is real business advice, because he built the thing he describes.

The Mastery Podcast provides personal trainers and fitness professionals with the necessary tools to take full control of their careers.

2. The Fit Pro Show — Jamie Alderton. A weekly show on marketing and social media for fit pros. Alderton is blunt about what works but equally blunt about what wastes your evenings.

3. The Health Coaching Business Podcast — Kate Martin. Formerly Kate Martin Mentor. It brings sales and marketing from a coach with 27 years in the business, in episodes of about 15 minutes. It is also very good on charging properly without saying sorry.

4. The Obvious Choice — Jonathan Goodman. The show that grew out of The Online Trainer Show. Goodman founded the Online Trainer Academy and the PTDC, which means the advice leans on systems, not hype.

5. The Personal Trainer Mentor Academy Podcast — Nik and Ant. Over 100 short episodes answering questions PTs send in. The topics come from working coaches, so there is very little filler.

6. Ben Coomber Radio — Ben Coomber. Food, business and mindset from a long-running voice in fitness. The show ran for a decade, took a break, and then returned in January 2026.

Two working-life shows to keep on rotation

Want to know where the gym trade is heading? Keep these two on repeat.

7. The Successful Personal Trainer: UK Edition. A newer show built around PT working life, especially rent models and going solo. It also comes from the team behind the UK Fitness Industry Podcast.

8. Personal Trainer Daily — Chris Burgess. One real question per episode, answered in about eleven minutes. Burgess is from Lift The Bar, and the format is perfect when you drive between sessions.

Personal trainer podcasts for coaching and science

Your clients read headlines, so these shows help you answer them well.

9. Sigma Nutrition Radio — Danny Lennon. It is the most careful nutrition show going, because Lennon reads the papers so you do not have to. Some episodes run heavy, though.

10. The Stronger By Science Podcast — Greg Nuckols and Eric Trexler. Deep, funny and evidence-first, across more than 165 episodes. Production wound down in 2024, but the back catalogue is still the reference library for taking apart gym myths.

11. Mind Pump: Raw Fitness Truth — Sal Di Stefano, Adam Schafer and Justin Andrews. Career trainers arguing about training and industry nonsense, across nearly 2,000 episodes. It runs long, but the coaching chat is very good.

12. Lean Life Radio — Simon Mitchell. Short episodes on food and strength science from the Iron Paradise Fitness coach — more than 850 of them. The format fits neatly between clients, especially on a busy floor day.

Personal trainer podcasts for mindset and staying in the job

Burnout ends more PT careers than bad programming does, so these three matter.

13. Give Me Strength with Alice Liveing. Conversations about grit, mental health and strength from a well-known fitness voice. There are also bitesize "Ask Alice" extras on Fridays.

14. The Jordan Syatt Podcast. It began life as the Mini-Podcast, and the spirit survives across its 327 episodes. Expect short, honest chats on coaching and money, because Syatt talks about pay more openly than most.

15. The James Smith Show. Industry views from the fitness world's least diplomatic voice. It is far more opinion than how-to, which means it works best as an occasional listen.

How to fit personal trainer podcasts into a full week

Listening is easy, but turning it into money is the hard part. Try this instead:

Turn listening into money
  1. Pick two shows, not fifteen. One business, one science.
  2. Stack it onto a habit, such as drives, warm-ups and admin nights.
  3. Take one note per episode. Just one, straight into your phone.
  4. Act on it within seven days, because otherwise it was only entertainment.
  5. Review once a month, and then drop anything you skip twice.

Two hours of listening a week adds up fast. Over a year, that is roughly 100 hours of free professional development. And it costs nothing, because you were already spending that time in the car.

One last thing, because every coach on this list ends up saying it. The business side makes or breaks a PT career, not the training plans. In our survey of 217 UK owners, 55.8% spend over three hours a week on bookings, invoices and messages. Podcasts teach you the theory. Getting those hours back — with help built for personal trainers — is what lets you use it. So our free No-Show Cost Calculator is a good place to start, because it shows what the admin costs you.

Listing note: shows go quiet without warning, so we check this list every quarter — last reviewed August 2026. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.

Common questions

What are the best personal trainer podcasts for business advice?

Start with the Mastery Podcast, The Fit Pro Show and The Obvious Choice. All three cover pricing, marketing and systems rather than training plans.

Which personal trainer podcasts cover day-to-day working life?

Try The Successful Personal Trainer: UK Edition and Personal Trainer Daily, because both deal with working life. Think rent models, courses and finding clients.

How many shows should a PT follow?

Two is plenty. Depth beats volume, because one idea you actually use beats ten you simply enjoyed.

Do podcasts count as CPD?

Usually not on their own. However, many episodes point you toward courses and papers that do count.

Get the hours back to use what you learn.

Most trainers lose hours each week to bookings, reminders and follow-ups. Aasure takes much of that admin off your hands, so the business advice actually gets applied.
